Register for Kehillat Shabbat 2017-2018

The Beth Jacob Kehillat Shabbat program is a vital part of your child's Jewish education. Our community of children - growing Jewish learners - are developing their identities together and as individuals. Children in 5th-8th grades at Beth Jacob further their synagogue skills, grow in their role in the community, and relate Jewish values to their contemporary lives. It is an exciting year, with so much in store!

5th-6th grade children participate in chugim (learning groups with varied activities), during which they select their learning focus. Trope and tefillah are always available as a choice.

7th-8th graders delve into their Jewish values, discussing ethical questions with each other through a Jewish lens and in a Jewish context. Their presence and continuity in the group reinforces their connection with each other and ability to share important thoughts.

While all Beth Jacob students in all grades are automatically enrolled in our Kehillat Shabbat Program, it is very important that you complete and return this form to ensure that our records are complete. Not only does this allow us to ensure that your child is appropriately placed in our program, but also ensures that we have established optimum staffing levels for the number and distribution of students involved.

For any questions or thoughts, please contact D.Marcos Vital, Congregational Educator (651-452-2226,

The program costs $150 per child for the year. (If you have a Pre-K, K, First, Second, Third, or Fourth-Grade child in Iyunim, that program includes the cost of older children in Kehillat Shabbat. Please sign up younger children for Iyunim here.)

Ability to pay is not a condition of education at Beth Jacob Congregation.
Should the fees present a financial hardship to your family, please select the "pay by check" option in the "Payment Method" section below and contact Rabbi Allen or Rabbi Tamar:
